2011 Wedding Trends

With my recent research, I've made up a list of trends for 2011.

-Bright colors for bridesmaid dresses or navy and yellow, red, nude or burnt red.  Gray is the new alternative to brown this year too.
-Tea length wedding dresses and dresses with pockets on them.
-Varied table sizes. Not just round tables, but mix it up a little. Add some character to the room.
-Country flowers, recycled products, and a rustic feel.
-Long tables to bring a vintage feel to the room.
-The DIY concept (Do  It Yourself) Your own personal touches make the decorations more personable.
-Textured fabrics for linens or for the altar.
-Creative wedding cake toppers.
-Not so traditional centerpieces, i.e. floating candles, vases with fish in them , more vintage themed and not just your bouquet of flowers.

I hope these help! I am personally really excited about the navy and yellow colors being popular together. I can also see navy and burnt red creating a smashing look as well!

  1. So, my best friend is getting married on a functioning, sustainable farm in California in the fall and I'm helping her plan (as much as I can from Morocco!). Any good ideas on where to get our (I'm hopefully going to be able to come back for it) bridesmaid dresses so they fit with the rustic atmosphere. No David's Bridal here! I'd say more Anthropologie-ish. We may or may not be able to find dresses there closer to fall, but any other options? They don't have to look exactly like bridesmaid dresses, just more fit the farm-feel.

I've been coming up with other fun stuff for the day, but if you have any neat ideas, I'd love to hear them :)
